| | | | strap button on an acoustic

I am terribly sorry for this question, but my acoustic-electric bass has one strap button on the bottom. That's it. There's no other button. How do people attach a strap to these things?
Again, I realize this is a really dumb question, but it would be so practical to be able to play the thing hanging from a strap
Help? |

| | | | No, this one's definitely a strap button. The output jack is located on the side of the body. |

| | | That's what I'm worried about. I don't want to harm the instrument, especially as it's hollow, and the thought of drilling into it is scary!
What did you guys use to drill with? An electric drill? I did earlier warn about the general stupidity of this question, right??? |

The idea is to use a strap which loops the headstock or ties at the neck just behind the nut and has a hole for the button on the body - you need a special strap for this.
Like this :
Acoustic Guitar Strap
This acoustic guitar strap is made out of very durable nylon. The guitar strap is adjustable between 37 - 60 inches long. One end of the guitar strap is made out of leather tab and the other end is made out of nylon laces. The tab is used to hook onto acoustic guitar's end button. The nylon laces are used to tie to the guitar between the neck and the scroll. The inside of the leather tab is made out of soft fabric to ensure that strap does not damage guitar's delicate finish. The strap is 2" wide making the guitar strap very comfortable to use even in long duration.

| | | Bruce, thanks for the info I took a strap I already have and attached some laces through one of the tabs and tied it around the nut. Works, but feels odd because I'm used to the type that attaches to the horn.
So I'll try it this way for a while, and if it keeps on feeling odd I'll have to consider drilling a hole into the heel. Ouch!
Thank you!!!
