Question Strap grip

Sign in to disble this ad
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, so if it needs to be moved, please do mods.

Anyways, I have 2 straps. A Levy's Metal Bullet strap, and a Levy's Cotton Grommet strap. I love both straps, but they both have cons.

The bullet strap is more of a showy strap, so I rarey use it on my bass when I'm playing live. It weighs a ton too, so I don't prefer to use it. The Cotton strap however looks awesome and is very light. This is the strap I've been using when I play live. Thing is, it has no grip. I like to be able to change the angle of my bass, but this strap slips of my shoulder too easily. How can I make it stay on better and still be able to change it's angle too?

Any help is great. Thanks!

This is precisely why I always use leather straps. They stay put until I move them.

Maybe cutting a piece of leather and sewing it to the underside of the cotton strap would work.

Yeah. Not the finished side, but the cut side. Careful though. If the leather is too thick, it'll be tough to sew. I was thinking of something like glove leather.
