Strap Locks ala-EVH carabiner style

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently went for a super strap lock system via the ring and carabiner style. I used some finishing washers to really clean up the appearance. Anyone else do anything like this?

That actually looks really cool. I might have to do something like this.

yeah, the finishing washer makes something hideous look almost well-designed.

Thanks Walter. Yeah, I had it without the washers for a couple of days and while it looked "okay" it just wasn't cutting it. I went to Lowe's this morning and searched their washer bins and came across these. I love it now...and it's a strap lock I'll likely never have to worry about coming undone. The carabiners are rated at 140 lbs!

Thanks...I think it comes out cheaper than Schallers. You can't really see it, but I have some felt underneath the washers. It's felt that is commonly used for protecting furniture.

very nice!

not only is it super secure, but I like that there is free movement...some locks I see restrict the strap a little bit.

Wow. That looks pretty durable there. Only thing I might be possibly worried about is how well it's screwed in. Did you have to do any drilling?
