String action on Brice 8-string

Hey guys... bit of a problem here. I've tried searching around for something on this topic and can't seem to find much. My Brice 8-string just arrived yesterday, and everything seems to be great except for string height. The bridge is different than any of my other basses, in that with my other basses I can raise/lower the string saddles on the bridge if I need to raise or lower the action. But on this bass the saddles don't look like they can be adjusted to change string height. Where the problem lies is on the lower frets, where the strings are practically laying right on the frets. Does anyone have any advice as to what a man should do? Thanks for your help!

Slacken the truss rod 1/8 of a turn at a time until you get the best compromise on string height

+1 and remember lefty loosey righty tighty, or clockwise to tighten, but you want counter clockwise to loosen, if they are flat it may take a 1/4 turn or more, but just do it in 1/8 turn and give the neck a little help before and after turning, then let it sit for a couple of hours before adjusting again. If a bridge is properly set up to the gauge of strings and a specific action height and intonation, the only adjustment that should ever be needed is to the truss rod for action.
