How can I get good balance?

Even out the tension in your string set - what is your scale length, and the gauge of your A string?

scale length...Hmm...I don't know...it is Fender Jazz bass 1977year
34 '' may be... with Dadario XL nikel round wound super soft gauge.
Yes,the A string a little weak compare the E and D...
