Sign in to disble this ad
well I have this problem on an off brand p bass i found in the trash, which sound pretty good but also i have it with a maestro lespaul jr i found at a sale. Now im not a professional but i can adjust a bass and guiatr so i can play it but i just cant seem to keep the strings from buzzing on either 1. so im here to ask you for help

With the lp i raised the bridge and reliefed neck as far as it would go, the board is in no way distorted at all.

now the p it only vibrates on lower notes of all 4 strings idid the same to it too

thanks

Could be the nut is cut too low,or your have some high frets.

There could be a lot of factors involved. You could have a nut that's too low, some uneven frets, an uneven fingerboard, bad strings, etc., etc., etc.

Please clarify this statement?

If you tightened your trussrod as far as it would go i am not surprised you are having string buzz issues.

The sticky for the forum has a couple of routines of all the things you should go through in the process. Having done that, take some measurements and post them so we can tell what you're dealing with -- relief at the 12th, string height at 1, action at 12, etc.

The LP might have a badly chosen shim in the neck pocket. on the bass, check all the frets and see if the buzz stops at a particular fret -- could be a high fret.

But again, post your measurements and that will help tell a lot.

Cheers!
