All other strings seem to sound at the same volume but the A string sounds a little louder, the thing is its the string in the very middle so i dont know what to do with the pick ups.. any tips?

The MK1 pickups are renowned for poor string balance.

Funny thing is that on my SR700 the A string is the quietest. Way quieter than the E and muffled sounding no matter what I do with the pickup height.

New electronics going in soon....

Lol really?

Anyway ithinki solved this, i just rised the A string a lil bit and it all sounds good now..

I think i got a pretty good 505 because everything is right, the neck the intonation and everything, the action was very good but i still lowered it a little..

My 700 has the same neck as the 500 series. Great neck, great bass.

Can't get the string to string volumes to balance at all. The E and G sound good, nice and big and clear. The A and D sound like they are about three inches from the pickups. Muffled and compressed sounding. setting the strings flat (instead of contoured to the board) makes no difference.

Glad yours is working out!

Yup, tried that.

If you search MK1 it is a pretty common problem.

I just put on some TI Flats and my SR600 seems pretty even, or my hearing is going, or my gas is making me imagine things. I didn't find the elixer's even on my bass.
