String/Tension Maintenance

Sign in to disble this ad
My LTD B-55, that I got about 6 months ago has been very nice so far, but I have one tiny problem with it that I'd like to fix. All of the strings are fine, except for the low B. It feels/sounds too loose, but it's tuned correctly. I'd like to bring it to a local dealer to see if they can set it up, but there aren't any that I know of in my area that are less than 40 miles away (Not sure of the exact distance), so I thought I'd try to fix it myself. Now, I haven't done anything to it yet. I checked Google first, but could only find things pertaining to full neck adjustments, which would affect ALL of my strings. So I decided I'd ask on here if anybody knew how I could tighten my string without messing my bass up and keeping my string tuned. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Sorry Charlie. Not much you can do short of getting a heavier B string.

So I can't adjust anything on the bridge, or something like that?

Not in any way that would affect string tension. Heavier B string.
