string width for proper bridge...

Sign in to disble this ad
hey folks,

this is my setup, so far:

SX pbass body with SX jazz neck (re-fretted with new nut)
Hipshot HB7 tuners
Rothstein prewired assembly with VQ capacitor
Curtis Novak pup

..... but I need a bridge....the body didn't come with one

I'm going to go with the Hipshot Vintage... but not sure what width to go with...

.699 or .750

anyone's thoughts... i'm thinking the .750 should be fine, no?

for vintage jazz pickups, go with the next size up from .75", otherwise the strings will not line up between the magnet poles like they're supposed to.

If you're wanting to match up with the original width, the .75 will match.

Actually the SX I just measured is a smidgin over .75
