I have a 1987 g&l sb1. At the current time, I have boomer light weight strings on it. I am thinking about changing to medium strings. Will medium strings give me more of a deep tone (balls)? Will I be able to lower the action with the medium string? And also, will the thicker strings play hell on my fingers?

Thanks

Boomers are fatter than other brands of the same guage. Try the 45-100's the 105's are fat. If you don't do a lot of bends it won't matter. Fatter strings will give you more balls.
