The Strings Off

I'm going to install a new bridge and tuning pegs on a used bass I just picked up. I figured I'd polish the frets too while it's string free, I've heard that taking all the strings off at once can cause issues. Does that just mean a new set up (which I have to do anyway) or is there more to worry about here?

Only if you leave them off for an extended period and even then, I'm not so sure. I do it every time I change strings and have had no ill effects so far.

It's fine. Take them all off.

Just allow your neck to settle once you put the strings on, then go willie-nillie with the rod and bridge. This method has worked the best for me.

That makes sense. Once I do all installing, I'll let it get used to the string tension for a bit before do the final adjustments to set up. Then I'll light it on fire! Can't wait.
