Stripped Phillips Screw on Dunlop Strap Lock

I was installing Dunlop Strap Locks on my '08 Fender P yesterday. Will spare you the gory details, but I managed to strip the Phillips screwhead on the button -- the one near the bridge -- before the screw was all the way in. That screw is utterly, completely stripped.
The good news is, the screw is in far enough so the Strap Lock snaps in securely. But the button is a bit loose/dangly. The screw is in far enough so I doubt anything is going to move in either direction. And the felt will protect the finish. So do you think the dangliness is just a psychological issue, or something I should deal with. If the latter, any ideas on how to get the screw out. (Nothing I've tried will get it farther in, that's for sure.)
Thanks. |
