Basically, this is my situation.
I bought myself a Cort A6 for my birthday, and I love this bass except for one thing - I'm not too keen on the painted headstock. Judging from the rest of the body (and the back of the headstock, which is 'natural' finished), the wood underneath should be nice to look at, as opposed to some hideous MDF nightmare or anything.
I was thinking of maybe stripping the paint off and then laquering over it again, but I wanted to know if anyone had done this before, and if so, how much effort it requires in terms of stripping the neck down, and so on? I'm pretty sure it'll have been done before, but I thought I'd best check here before I savaged an otherwise pretty bass

That's obviously the back of the bass, but it gives you an idea of the wood we're talking.
