Sudden Buzzing

Howdy,
My bass (MIM Jazz) was setup last Monday. It was great. Today I'm getting buzzing on the A and the G strings. Haven't messed with it and it was sitting on a stand and played some. What could be the cause if this is not normal, and also the solution. Thanks for any assistance.

Sometimes it takes a few days for the wood of the neck to adjust to changes in the truss rod. That could be the case if your truss was adjusted when the setup was done.

Weather affects the wood as well. Any increase in humidity in your area this week?

Solution - If you had someone else set up your bass, take it back to them and have them tweak it. They should not charge you extra for it - A setup should last longer than a week.

The explanation!

Hello Turnaround,
Thanks for the info, I was wondering if those issues could have that much effect. Upon further examination I found that the Brand new cheap Hartke A and G strings were pulling off the end ring. Also found out that the D'addario's pull through the bridge holes. Have one more set of the Hartke but I don't think I'll waste anymore time on them. Thanks again for the input.

A second tweak is needed sometime. Every neck reacts differently to truss rod adjustments.
