Hey folks,
I am looking for a luthier in Toronto to do some work on my Pedulla Rapture.
Here's the backgound...
The bass, when I bought it had a pretty good bow in the neck. I sourced a truss rod wrench for it and adjusted the neck as best I could. Currently, the truss is maxed out.
The action at the nut is acceptable, but from about the 5th fret forward, it's just too high. I have shimmed the neck and that brouhgt it down a bit. I have lowered the saddles as low as they will go, without causing fret buzz, but again, the middle sections of the neck have too much relief.
I believe that the next tact to successful setup will be to have the neck removed, the truss loosened, the neck clamped and re-set, then the truss locked into place... that's what I think needs to happen anyway.
Most local repair guys will run when I describe what I think I need done, so I am hoping to find someone locally that will not be phased by such an undertaking.
I have contacted the twelfth fret, but thay are looking at at least 5 weeks to get anything done.
Toronto folks, can you suggest perhaps a smaller shop with a skilled luthier who has experience with this kind of repair?
Appreciate you consideration!
Regards...
Fishheadjoe
