suggestions for replacement ibanez bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an Ibanez SR300. The bridge feels quite puny and the vibration of the string causes the allen screws to unscrew thus making my saddles lower and become uneven. Any suggestions for a replacement? The stock bridge has 3 screws behind the saddles and 2 in front. I would like the replacement to be a hefty one.

A little Loc-Tite or wax on the threads of the adjustment screws will stop them from vibrating loose. That appears to be a well-designed quick release bridge so I would hesitate to replace it unless you have to. Also, those mounting screws don't appear to be in "standard" positions so a replacement bridge may require you to drill some additional holes.

well i have the screws to where they're not going anywhere. the main reason i want a replacement is that this bridge is really light...it has no balls. it feels worse than a fender stock bridge.

That bridge is fine and needs no replacement. You'd be far better off spending the money elsewhere.

Wax won't do it.. Blue loctite or clear nail polish.

The bridge is fine, and NOT the course of your problems. Change the strings - it will make MUCH more difference in the sound. You want balls in the sound? Flatwounds will do it - Labella Deep Talkin' flats are the classics.

Don't mess with the bridge (other than using Loctite or nail polish on the set screws) until you have tried different strings.

+1 - The bridge on the SR300 is just fine ... blue Loc-Tite or nail polish like the other guys said.
