Superlow Action???

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm working on setting up my new Proline Corvette 4, the only thing I didn't like to well from the store was the action, a little to high for my taste.

Now, I love the just-a-nut on these things, makes for easy adjustment, however, the action fret 8 all the way through the 24th is much higher than the 1-7.

The saddles on my bridge are completely bottomed out, and I don't want to crank the truss rod anymore, it feels like it's turned out. (doesn't want to move.)

What should I do?!

The Warwick bridges can be lowered as a whole. I always find it easiest to set the neck straight, then just put the ever so slightest relief in the neck (barely visable when looking down the neck). Then lower the whole bridge assembly. Once you have it all down and flat, start raising the saddles individually till you get your desired action. Make sure to tune the string as you raise and lower the saddles. Once you get all of your strings set, make sure you adjust your intonation. That will have likely been messed up from all of the changes.
This was just my approach, I have owned at least 10 Warwick's and I always enjoyed setting them up. They were very fun and easy to do. PM me if you want some more specifics, but that should get you started.
Peace,
Chris

Thanks very much, I had no idea the entire bridge could be moved! Solves my problem, I can get it from here.

Thanks again Chris.

You are welcome. Make sure you unlock the whole bridge assembly. The middle hex on each side between the corners has to be loosened before you can lower the whole assembly. Just an FYI.

Peace,
Chris
