Ive got an Ibanez SR405 and on several fretts around the middle of the neck on the D & G strings, the sustain sucks. Is there an adjustment on the bridge or anywhere i can start to get this problem out?

How does the sustain "suck"... are the notes fretting out or do they just sound dull, lifeless and fade out quickly? How old are the strings and what kind are they?

Its generally a dead zone, between the 4th and 8th fret... All basses have that problem, specially the medium or low quality ones..

That's a dead note zone on your bass. A quality bass usually have one or two dead notes around 5-7 frets on the G string. Your bass obviously has quiet a few dead notes.

Hows the relief on that side of the neck? Are the notes fretting out? If relief is fine and still fretting out, try rasing the bridge saddles for those two strings just a little.
