im having problems with the intonation of my warwick thumb. i need the bass drop tuned pretty low to drop B to be exact. my question is if go up in guage thickness will it make enough diff in the intonation?

yes, going up in size as you go down in pitch will keep everything holding together, for better sound and feel as well as intonation.

you'll need to get the nut slots widened, or the bigger strings will hang up in them, possibly even breaking the corner of the nut off.

"dropped B" to me means tuned to C#, with the low string dropped a whole step. you could almost get by with the 4 heaviest strings of an extra-light 5-string set.
