Has anyone put a set of flats guaged at 45-100 on an sx bass with stock bridge?
Do they fit without a modification ?

I bought an SX fretless P-bass copy that came with flats, which I think were that gauge. The E string did not fit very well through the bridge. It had obviously been jammed through there with lots of effort, because the silk wrapping was torn to shreds. And it was a bear to remove. But I'm sure other brands won't be as thick at the ball end, and should go through fine.

I don't know what they were thinking when they designed sx bridges but the holes are very small.

If the strings don't have silk at the ends you improve greatly the chance of making them fit because it 's usually at the ball end where the silk is that the string jam. if you are lucky you can force ot through but some people had issues with that...

good luck
