SX (essex) bass truss rod help

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought an SX 75 type model jazz bass. The allen wrench it came with doesn't seem to fit in the hole to adjust the truss rod, neither do any of the other wrenches I have. Does anyone know what size it needs, and where I can get one?

I believe it takes a 4mm. Any hardware or automotive supply should have one.

I'd grab a cheap set of English & Metric wrenches. Covers lots of possibilities & easier than dragging the instrument into a store.

Go to your local hardware store like Home Depot, Lowe's, Sears, or Harbor Freight and get yourself a set.

Also, if you email Kurt, he'll send you the wrench, but you can buy better ones and have them for other basses.
