Has anyone attempted to remove the truss rod nut from an SX or Essex neck? I recently wanted to transplant the nut from an old-headstock SX to a Squier Pro-Tone, but could not for the life of me remove it. I ended up pulling one off of a Squier Affinity, and it worked like a charm.
Just wondering... has anyone had any success pulling the nut off of an SX? |

My problem is that when I loosen the nut, it works well for a few turns, then starts feeling like it's tightening up again. Could be the nut rubbing up against the wood as it's coming out, but I'm not sure. I'm just nervous about forcing it. |

I didn't force it any further but I thought it was strange that it didn't just come off.

With the Squier nut that wouldn't come out, it was probably the wood getting in the way. It's easy to cram the nut in there, but not so easy to coax it out. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
