SX Jazz Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Its the sting that holds the strings down before they go to the nut. Not sure what it is called. Any how it slipped loose. I hoped that I could lower my strings on the barrel of the tuning peg and then tighten the screw. Unfortunately the screw wont bite into the wood.
Any ideas? I'm thinking bore out the current hole and make it bigger and insert a bigger screw in the hole or find some sort of replacement part but am not sure.
Hope the pics help display the problem as I'm not sure what the part is even called, in 20 years of bass playing I've never had this peroblem before - never had a sx before either...
