sx sjb 62 4+1 fretless- String heigth at 12th fret? what should it be?

I got me a nice 5 string fretless sx, but I'm having some issues with string/psuedo fret buzz on the first 3 frets when the neck is made to be straight. While the first three fret markers are raised up enough to feel them when not looking at them, the sound of the string doesn't change noticably when sliding across them on an amp, so I wouldn't think there high enough to cause the problem.

So, how do you guy's have your sx's set up?

specifically, do you have the necks truss rod set to get the neck completely straight, or do you allow for a slight bow?

on top of those two options, at what height do you have your strins set at at the 12th fret?
