T-Bird strap button move to neck plate

Sign in to disble this ad
I finally have decided to move my strap button onto the neck plate of my Epi T.

Do I loosen string tension and just go for it-or are there other things I should have on hand?(Longer screw?..etc.)

Thanks

Save yourself some work, put it here, on the base of the heel.

If you mess with the neck screws, YOU MUST loosen your strings! And if you are using an existing neck screw hole you will need a longer screw. Cheers!

I put mine on the back plate. If you go with Straplocks the screws are longer anyway, so that will solve the problem of needing a longer screw. Or you can break a couple toothpicks apart and fill the existing hole, then use the old screw just fine.

When I get into the bass live with the strap peg on the plate, I tend to drive the peg into my chest/stomach at times, which can be uncomfortable later in the evening. But when in the zone, not immediately noticed.
