| Weezer, I apologize as it is late and my patience had shortened.
It is simple. First, remove the neck ~note if there are any shims in the neck pocket and where they are placed. Second, wash your hands and keep'em clean. Mask off the areas where you want to retain the original gloss finish prior to sanding. Once you have the neck down to bare wood and ready, apply Birchwood-Casey Tru Oil with a cloth, leave on only 5 seconds, it makes a mess as it will dry thick, then wipe it off with paper towels. Do not treat the rosewood board with this product. Then apply Birchwood-Casey Gunstock Wax and wipe dry. Buff out with a cotton towel. 99% positive this is how EBMM necks are done. You can finish with steel wool if so desired. Done. EDIT: ^details included.
The products can be found at most gun and sporting goods stores.
