Larry Smoak works out of his basement in Fairfax Station. He's a Fender Gold Level Repair Service Center. He can do pretty much anything from simple set ups to machining his own parts.
He just completed a complete fret dressing on my Fender Jazz bass (1994 '62 RI) and was willing to spend 9 hours on it due to unevenness in the neck, dips and curves that I could not see. But when he was done, quite a difference. Beautiful work for $160.
