I am not all that impressed with the bridge on this bass anyway, and I might just have a hipshot put on. The bridge seems to vibrate wierd. It is a 2006 4003.
Thanks in advance. |
Just traded for one here on TB, an '06 rick. Love it, but immediately noticed the A-string saddle vibrating, while playing it. Some of the vibration noise comes thru the amp, too. Ordered a hipshot bridge on ebay for around $119 IIRC (did this the same day I got the bass). Also, the saddle assembly teeters on the two allen screw height adjusters, with very little saddle-to-body contact. Hard to keep your intonation on when saddles can teeter back and forth. The bass is perfect! It's just a Rickenbacker design thing. Also, I'm hoping the hipshot will allow more room to finger-pluck between the pup cover and the bridge, 'cause I like the look of the Rick w/ the cover installed.
Good luck,
Jody
