Question Is there any way to recognize bridge material in a Chrome?

Sign in to disble this ad
a friend of mine that lives in usa is going to buy a Hipshot Brass Chrome bridge for me (that brand is not imported = doesnt exist here). He actually dont have any idea about basses, etc. And if there´s a confusion with the seller or something like that, he could recieve anything and think thats ok...
i suposse if theres an error, maybe will be take the correct bridge made with a different material.

Is there any way to recognise a Chrome Brass vs. Chrome Aluminum ? (only having one)

they come with a package or something?

Maybe it seems to be a silly problem, but in this part of the world music gear its really expensive.

thanx

easy; the brass one will be heavy, the aluminum one will be light.

But if you got only one of those in your hands? How can you notice is the brass or alum?

I would think that anyone who has ever handled metal objects could tell the difference. Brass will be heavy in the hand, aluminum will not. It's not at all subtle.

yeah, it'll be an obvious "wow, that's heavy!", or "wow, that feels like it's chrome-plated wood!"
