One of the reasons I hate Fender. There are so many better ways to guide your CNC otherwise all basses would have one of these. Leaving a hole like that forces you to use a pick guard which kinda pisses me off because Fender does have really nice finishes and usually has great selections of wood. If I were to own one I would love to show off the wood and finish but not with that disaster. The whole makes it look like it was built by some high school-er that just learned how to use a CNC. They cut lots of small corners here and there and it just results in an instrument I would be ashamed to admit I ever paid more than 300 for.

Put a knob there that is labeled Awesome/suck knob. then you can turn up the awesome and turn down the suck.

If you want to leave the pickguard off, just make more matching holes forming a smiley face.
