For those with 8 and 12ers

Do you all like to set the action low to where it buzzes a lot or do you like to set the action high where it's relatively buzz-free? The reason I ask is because I have a Dean Rhapsody 8 and I can't decide which works better for it. Do they sound better grinding on the frets and making a buzzsaw effect, or clean and clear? I can't decide.

My 8 is a fretless, but when I owned a fretted 8 and a fretted 12 I would get the action as low as I could, but without any buzz. If you want a "buzzsaw effect", get a fuzz pedal.
