Threaded neck bolt inserts..anyone use em before?

I have a nice G&L LB100 (P Bass) with a 3 bolt neck connection and am thinking about modding it with a (G&L) 6 bolt neck plate with threaded inserts for a tighter neck fit. Does anyone think this as a bad idea?
