Thunderbird Bass Help!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I recentley bought an epiphone thunderbird & when I was playing the E string snapped and I lost the saddle (didnt realise how easy they fall apart till i went to put a new string on) so iv had to buy a new set of saddles the only thing is they are numbered differently to how they were before... does anyone know how they should be numbered? iv tried copying how they are set up on another thunderbird but it just sounds shite!!!! my main problem is the E string which has a constant buzz...

any help would be grateful!!!

cheers

I don't know about numbers, but there are two sizes, long and short. The short ones go on the E and G strings and the long ones on the A and D strings. This makes the curvature of the strings the same as the fingerboard.

fwiw, there should be numbers on the bottom or side of the saddle. but like Showdown said, the smaller ones are for the E & G strings.

Or you give up and spend some money on one of these.

I assume that it would work with the epiphone as well as Gibson. Unless anyone knows otherwise?

Hey, I'v also lost one of the saddles, the D saddle, which is number 2 I believe. Where did you get your replacement saddles? I'v found some on the internet but they are chrome and i need black ones.
