I just picked up a Dan-O Hodad and I'm absolutely blown away by the sound, the punch, and the way this thing cuts. I used it on a cover gig the other night and it totally holds up to and sounds better than some of the $1000+ gear I have and have had. $395 tax included! Damn!
I know little to nothing about how the electronics on a bass work. The tone control doesn't have much range to it - it acts as more of a bass/treble switch than variable tone control. Can this be replaced with a better pot that would give me more of variety of tones. If so, I'd appreciate any suggestions, what would I purchase, are there different kinds of pots, would this effect the overall sound of the bass, etc? Thanks! |
