I bought jackson c20 concert bass. At the store when i tried it it seemed fine but now those big jumbo frets makes me nervous. When im "shifting" my hand up and down the fretboard my hand goes over the edge of frets (above the g string)(naturally) and then the frets hurt my 1 finger leaving small cuts. This makes me nervous and im thinking of removing these frets and putting a new ones (smaller). Is there any other way of resolving this problem?
It could be that such frets are just not for you - or maybe they need to be "dressed" - but I'd also consider refining your technique. You shouldn't be getting cuts or blisters.
The frets may just be too big for you, but no fret should have sharp ends. Either file them down (easily done with a small fine-toothed file)or have someone do it for you.
