Basically, this:

...is the bass i'm getting in about a week. A warwick BO 6 Broadneck. I've played it before so I know all about the weight and the neckdive. Sure its a wooden brick, but it just makes me feel good...even though i might have to hit the gym a little more often to use it standing for a while^^;. Awesome bass no question but i'd like to change how it looks.

Firstly, is it possible to dye or stain the fretboard so to make it darker? Like rosewood? Secondly, would it be safe to remove the neck, electronics, and other hardware on the body to give it a glossy black finish and how could I do this (or find someone to do it)? Finally, It's would rock to get gold hardware for this thing, does Warwick sell replacement/spare parts? Or is it possible to repaint them with some sort of metallic gold paint?

I'd appreciate any help with this.

Nice grab! I sometimes miss having my thumb5. They are good basses, with exceptions to the points you made.

I know that with the fingerboard you can use black shoe polish to make it black. It will slowly stain the board black with regular use. Most of it will wipe off in a relatively short period of time. If it's been waxed with the Warwick Bee's Wax often it will take significantly longer to get the wood to stain.

With the hardware, I know it would be expensive, but to do it right, you should buy all new hardware. Most of the hardware is generic and you could get it cheap. All for the exception of the bridge and tuners.

Good luck!

Warwick will sell you the bridge and tailpiece. Then put yours up on ebay and it should sell for a decent price.
