I went on a lengthy quest searching for the answer, and all I seemed to discover was that Fender will not release their color mixes. I have heard of people having success with auto paints that match some of the older fenders, but I just resorted to nail polish to fix some dings on my backup jazz. If someone here does know where to find the Fender colors, please share!!!

My wife is into crafts and we have a tone of paints all kinds/colors and everything else, but before I did something like that I wanted to know if paint was available and it probably isn't.. so hard acrylic black gloss it is from the craft store or nail paint would work as well I guess.. just so its not so noticeable thats all..

Luckily I had a color on hand that matched my midnight wine almost perfectly. Black should be much easier to find

Depending onj the color, car touch up paint pens are great for little touch ups.

This has been my experience also. I do know that many Fender colors of real oldies WERE GM-Automotive color spreads but modern ones are all over the map. The older models with any nitro finish would use a GM color chart. This can be very helpful with gold metal flake and related colors. Japanese bodies have used some Japanese automotive colors (Toyota, Nissan color chart). The "off-white" type colors are fairly easy with a color-match scanner.

I do know a trick that has been fairly successful. If you live in an area that has a professional automotive paint supplier, they often have "tone/color sample match scanners" & can get damn close: close enough so that visually, there would really be no difference. The issue is in the final finish as some companies use an "over acrylic" clear cover & a scanner will miss that. The general run of automotive colors does NOT use a bake-on dry. They simple set up in a dust-free environment for several days.
