Trouble with EB3s Bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys

I'm not really a bass player but I've got here an Epiphone EB3. I was making some adjustments to the bridge today when at one point I realized the ferrules that hold the height adjustment screws in place were popping out. So I removed the strings and pushed the ferrules back in. Put the strings back on the guitar and same thing happened again.

Now I don't know what I shall do....shall I attempt to glue it or simply fill the hole with something so that it doesn't happen again ?

Thanks a bunch

I glued them in on several Rumblekats and Casadys with the same bridge ferrules.

Carefull mask the body before you start gluing.

wood glue. I've had to do the same to many guitars and basses.

Ok thanks......I'm going to buy it tomorrow.....one last question do I apply the glue on the ferrule itself or on the laterals of the hole ? Sorry, I've never done it before and don't want to screw up the instrument

Yeah thats a common thing with those gibson style bass bridges. Used wood glue on mine way back when to provide enough tightness for them to stay in place. Normally the bit of glue that oozes out can be simply wiped off. If some gets missed, just use edge of fingernail or a pick to get it off guitar finish. Since it wont bond with the finish it scrapes off easy.

I've used superglue hence my caveat about masking properly.
