TruOil on Rosewood?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm redoing the back of a neck and contemplating the concept of TruOil on the rosewood board.

Does that work well?
If so why, if not, why not?

Too gooey for a fingerboard. The synthetic oil that Stewart Macdonald sells is best for that.

rosewood doesn't need any of that junk!

maybe some fret doctor once a year, otherwise, leave the rosewood alone.

While Tru-Oil is fine for the rest of the neck I wouldn't use any finish on the playing surface of a rosewood fingerboard.

Fair enough! Just thought I'd ask. I never put the stuff on a RW board before... and I never will!
