Check other possabilitys first. I had a similar thing happen with one of my basses. It turned out to be a spring on my bridge, the one that goes over the intonation screw. Is your neck properly adjusted? Not sure what could make the truss rod cause these issues. Maybe it's loosened all the way and the adjustment screw or nut is causing the ratteling?

Hi.

If You have eliminated all the other vibration sources, all I can say is: Good luck.

A rattling TR is not that uncommon IME, it's a thick "string" after all, and the quick remedies are few and far between.

The best, and the most costly is obviously replacing the TR with something better.

The quick and "dirty" remedy is to fill the TR channel with "something" through small holes drilled through the FB and into the TR channel.

I have repaired a couple back in the day, and as those examples were in the hopelessly POS category, for me the "something" was a small amount of some silicone sealant that I happened to have in the gun was what I used.
If You decide to go on that route, do pay attention to the sealants compatibility with wood. Some sealants decompose wood like there's no tomorrow.

Regards
Sam
