Truss rod

I just got this fender avri 75 jazz and the truss rod is sticking out a bit at the head. See the picture. The bass plays and sounds great, I am just scared this is some issue that will come about long term. Insight?

That is the Bullet truss rod known in 70's Fenders...it is normal.
