| Truss rod adjustment socket

I have an '83 Ibanez Destroyer that's become quite a project lately. One of the things I've notice about this thing is that the actual nut or socket that's used to adjust the truss rod (it's a female allen socket) comes off the truss rod itself. This means that if I need to adjust the truss rod I can only turn it right, as that's the direction that tightens the adjusting doo-hickey onto the truss rod its self.
I was thinking about maybe dropping some locktite or something along the lines of that onto the threads and putting allen socket back on the truss rod, but I'm not sure if that would be strong enough to allow for adjusting the truss rod to the left, and I'm afraid of gunking up the truss rod itself.
Any ideas? |
