TRUSS ROD Ajustment not possible

Hey there guys!

The neck of my bass seems to be a bit concave (the first fret is 1mm away from the strings, the 20th fret is 5-6mm or so away).

So I was trying to release the tension by ajusting the truss rod. But the screw seems to be misplaced. See the picture below:

Instead of being vertical and aligned with the hole where the Hex Key (that came with the bass) goes in, the screw is inclined not allwoing the key to fit.

Apllying extra force has led to paint loss on the head...

How can I solve this?

you can try with a round point hex key

Or bend one a bit...

hex keys are cheap...

That's also not how you measure relief, so you don't really know if you need to adjust the truss rod.

Check the stickies for guides on how to set up your bass.

Yes I know, and I've read those guides. But the neck is clearly concave. And I hate that "buzzing" sound when the strings vibrate agains the frets!
