Truss Rod Cover - Necessary?

Is there any reason to have the truss rod cover on? I've been changing strings a lot and doing lots of tweaks so I'm gonna leave it off... Seems like a silly question but I'm sure TB land has some thoughts!

I left mine off of my Warwick SS1. It really served no purpose being there except to say the model name. Personally, I think ever bass manufacturer should adopt EBMM's truss rod dial. It's super easy and convenient, and just about anything can be used to adjust it.

I always put the cover and screws in a small ziplock bag in case I sell the bass, then I put it back on.

Most of the time it just looks better, but that's all. There is no protection to it.

If you do not put it back on, you WILL lose it eventually. You will care about this should you go to sell the instrument. But other than that, there's no need for it.
