Is this truss rod jacked up? Ibbie SRX700

I spied an Ibanez SRX 700 NT on GC used section for 199. Called the store and asked some basic questions, sales rep assured me it was in good shape.

Starting playing it, sounds great....something doesn't feel right. I noticed the finish that covers the entire bass is flaking off where the neck wood meets the fretboard. Not only is it flaking off but I can see the fretboard is a bit raised off too. This is on G side from the first to the seventh fret. Not familiar with Ibbie truss rods but I am wondering if a bolt snapped off of this or does an allen wrench fit in there? It is hard to tell the shape of the inside.

Wondering if anyone has an idea... probably heading to the local GC tomorrow to see what they say since I purchased it online. Sorry for the crappy pics, I will try to take some tomorrow.

The fretboard is separating from the neck, I would return it for a refund.
