Truss rod loose?

Sign in to disble this ad
Today when I tried to tighten the truss rod on my Geddy Lee Jazz I noticed that the truss rod was loose. I could just screw it without any resistance. So I wonder if it's broken, and if it is, is it possible to fix? The neck seems to be fine, just a little fretbuzz on the frets after the 12th.

Check te relief on your neck first. If the rod is broken, your neck is likely to be warped or with excessive bow. Maybe it was never tightened. Try to tighten the screw and see if you get any resistance (but be careful!). The rod can be replaced by a pro repair man.
