Truss rod nut problem on MiM J

Sign in to disble this ad
hi guys

I've got some trouble with my MiM Jazz. The neck needs adjustment, needs to be straightened out a bit. Problem is that the truss rod nut (I think that's what it's called in English, it's the little bit that can be accessed from the headstock and where you put the allen key in) is worn, so that the key slips.

What are my options here? I've looked around the net some but I can't find much. Any possibility that I can fix this myself? How would one put a new truss rod nut in place?

Thanks for any help!

Go to www.stewmac.com and buy one of their 4mm gripper truss rod wrenches. I have these in my shop and use them daily to adjust worn truss rods.

thanks for the tip! If any Europeans have any idea where to get something alike on our side of the ocean, please chime in.
