It is a dual action truss rod so I understand that replacement will require removing the fingerboard. I understand that this is a substantial repair.
I am trying to look into my options for getting this repair done. I talked to Carvin, they are asking for $350 plus shipping and will take 6 weeks.
Do you think it makes sense to do this locally? I live in Allentown, PA. Does $350 sound like a fair price. |
That happened to mine and the bass was never the same after a new tr was put in. They had to route the entire fretboard off.
I would STRONGLY recommend just cutting your losses and selling it with the broken TR with full disclosure.
It's already going to cost $400+ to fix. Take that money and put it towards a new bass.
Carvin uses new TR's now that are much stronger. You're safe with a new Carvin.
