Trussrod Frozen

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently picked up a used 6 bolt Honeyburst G&L L2000. I've had it about 10 days. I was gigging with it Saturday night and noticed the action was a little high. I looked down the neck and saw that it had a good a deal of relief. I thought it was no big deal. However, this evening when I went to adjust the truss rod, I found that it was frozen. It will go maybe 1/16 of a turn in either direction and that's it. I think I've seen this topic raised before. What's the remedy?

Hi.

The safest "remedy" is to take it to a luthier or a repair person and if they break it, they also pay for the damage.

There's DIY remedies also, including lubricants, heat, cold etc. but it'd be a PITA to ruin a good neck if an incorrect method was chosen.

Regards
Sam
