Try to fix it or turn it into a lamp?

So I've got a 2003 silvertone p bass copy, on which the screw holes for the screws on the bridge are stripped. Would moving the bridge like 1/4" closer to the neck, then drilling new holes mess anything up?

If that doesnt work I could just get a gotoh 201 which I'd have to drill new holes for anyway...

Also the neck is very messed up thanks to my freind who thought he knew what he was doing adjusting the truss rod. So I would have to get a new neck (Im thinkin a p-bass neck from rondo, only because its cheap and I dont want to sink alot of money in this bass, just sorta have it as a project bass)

Should I try to resurect this bass or just turn the whole damn thing into a lamp?

Toothpicks and wood glue should fix the bridge holes - no need whatsoever to move it. What is wrong with the neck? Broken trussrod, or ? ? ? ?

Does the truss rod just need re-adjustment? I'd try that first. Also, like tadawson said, use toothpicks and wood glue to fill the holes, and re-install the bridge.

the problem with the neck is that my freind really had no idea what he was doing and put too much bow in it, and in the wrong way too (his basses truss rod was adjustable from the bridge end, not the head-stock) I suppose I could try to fix this myself with an allen wrench

how exactly would I repair it with the toothpicks and wood glue?

fill the holes with tooth picks then pour in a little wood glue?

(by the way guys, thanks so much for the help with this)

PS: Trevorus, is your name actually Trevor? if so you are the first person Ive meet that I share the name with (I know its not that rare of a name, but still)

yes wood glue and toothpicks in the brige holes, fairly simple just coat the toothpicks in glue (cut them to size first and put them in the holes, and yes just turn the truss rod the opposite way your friend did

so cut the tooth picks to length for the holes, then coat them in wood glue and put them in the holes?

would it be a good idea to just have a small bowl of wood glue to dump the toothpicks in before I put them in the holes? and how long should I allow for drying time?

thanks for this guys, I was just thinking today of how I'd like to have a p-bass I could use to practice modding on
